
Park Ji- sung, the greatest South Korean footballer of the present generation is in news for his troubled knee. A proficient player - he plays for both the national side and the Manchester United club in England. Park Ji- sung will be operated on his knee in the United States.
Park Ji-Sung’s game is centered upon a high work ethic and discipline and such qualities are what have driven him to the top. His injury is a big set back for his side.
The local media in South Korea reported Park’s visit to the United States for an appointment with well-known knee specialist Dr Richard Steadman. The knee surgeon, to his credit also operated on many other football biggies like Ruud van Nistelrooy and Michael Owen.
Park attained fame as football player when he single handedly took South Korea to the semifinals of the 2002 World Cup scoring against Italy and other giants of the game. He injured his knee in a Premier League game against Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford on March 31 and since he has not played.
The officials of Manchester United, Park Ji- sung’s club, also confirmed his trip for getting the knee operated upon. But, his club is not definite yet how long the midfielder will take to fully convalesce from the injury. All will be eagerly waiting for his early recovery.
