Nothing seems going right for Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko. Not in coach Jose Mourinho’s good book, the Ukrainian was first left out of the Champions League match against Liverpool. The latest setback comes in the form of a groin injury and the former Milan player will have to undergo a groin operation at the end of the season. Shevchenko has already run into trouble and there was whisper against the player that he did not travel with his team-mates to Merseyside in protest after Mourinho reduced him to a substitute. Chelsea, however, blamed it on Shevchenko’s injury and a statement in its official website said The injury meant he missed the Liverpool match but we are hopeful he will be available between now and the end of the season. Shevchenko is likely to play, at least for some part, in Chelsea’s crunch match against Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. After the defeat against Liverpool, it’s a must-win situation for the club and Shevchenko will get an opportunity to prove his worth and silence his detractors, including Mourinho.
