Liverpool’s maybe heading for a takeover but seem eager to prove in the Premiership - two early second half goals from Peter Crouch and Dirk Kuyt were enough for the Reds’ to see of the Hammers.

Kepa Blanco making his first appearance in the Premiership for West Ham scored of the first touch in the 76th minute but Liverpool managed to cling to their goal advantage for a well-earned victory.

With the win at Upton Park, Liverpool has moved into the third spot mere two points behind the defending champions Chelsea though are good eight points behind the league leaders Manchester United.

Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring for the visitors scoring magnificently from 25 yards well within the first minute of the second half - and seven minutes latter Crouch enter the scoring list with well worked finish form the edge of the box.

The Premiership title race is heating up well - the competition is building up stiffer to the last couple of years where the Blues had been the gainers.
