wesley sneijderHolland midfielder Wesley Sneijder is all set to leave Ajax for Real Madrid after the Spanish giant announced that it has agreed to an £18.3m deal with the Dutch club.

Sneijder, who has played 35 matches for Holland, including appearances in the World Cup, would sign a five-year contract with Real as the club’s fifth recruit this season, after Christoph Metzelder, Pepe, Javier Saviola and Jerzy Dudek.

Sneijder’s move to Real will also end all speculations about his possible move to Chelsea. The 20-year-old player had a wonderful time at Ajax, scoring 57 goals in 180 matches - good for any midfielder - and the youngster would be hoping to extend his purple patch when he comes over to Real.

Real, meanwhile, has set its eyes on another Dutch player, Royston Drenthe,
who is likely to join the club anytime this season.

Going by their recent recruitment plans, one thing is clear that Real would be banking on Dutch power to win laurels.
