Alessandro Nesta a vibrant name in the World Champion’s defense line - has served Italia for years - injury and other knocks here n there have fractured the fascinating defender’s repertoire, which eventually costed him a number of appearance for the side.

It’s a shocker to hear the AC Milan defender give up on his task - as he decides to quit the international side, or perhaps! However, the outbreak seems routine for the man in-charge of the Italian football team, Roberto Donadoni - he believes Nesta has quit the Italian national side for good.
Milan’s UEFA Champions League winning squad member, Nesta - has defied criticisms that kept him out of the World Cup final against France last year. However, he was not a part of Danadoni’s squad for the EURO 2008 qualifiers scheduled in the Faroe Islands at the weekend and in Lithuania on 6 June as the defender had asked to be left out as he is getting married.
The news isn’t concrete but just an assumption by the manager - that cites the 31-year-old not returning to play for the country. If that’s the case then Nesta is sure on track that AS Roma striker Francesco Totti has been treading - Totti has had a good season for his club this time but the Serie A’s highest scorer shows no signs of returning to the international side.
It difficult to comment on what has gone wrong - is it the lost passion to play for the world champions or is it some sort of an internal politics in the squad that’s keeping the giants like Totti and Nesta of the hocks.
Whatever it is one things clear as a crystal - Italy are not having things going their in the EURO 2008 qualifiers. They are placed fourth in Group B - two points behind co-leaders Ukraine, Scotland and France.
