Manchester United would still buy a draw at the Nou Camp but things could have been better for the Red Devils had Ronaldo managed to cash on a second minute penalty. It was very unlikely of the Portuguese striker who has seldom missed anything this season but for the bad luck he managed to miss it from the spot. The missed penalty followed a vociferous Barcelona possession for the entire game but with nothing good in store for them either.
Eto’o looked threatening to score but was brilliantly checked by Brown after he managed to cut past the burly Ferdinand. Another opportunity could have been a Ronaldo strike but his run was brilliantly cut Rafael Marquez and it made United yell for a futile penalty claim. Other than these rare moments of joy there was hardly anything in the game other than Barca gaining a major possession and ManU doing well in defence despite Vidic’s absence.
Considering the fact that it was an away game for ManU they would not feel disheartened at the draw with the next game slated to be played in front of the home fans at Old Trafford. Had it been a loss on the contrary, Ronaldo could have turned into a devil figure for the ManU buffs making them forget all good he’s done for them this season.
