
One of the top Italian football clubs Juventus has been under the scanner in the recent past. Juventus was charged for their alleged involvement in a match-fixing scandal in the serie A. The club had filed a writ in the civil court, which they seem to have withdrawn.

Juventus was stripped of its last two Serie A titles and the club was relegated to the second division by a sports tribunal. A sports appeals court however had reduced Juventus’ point’s penalty from 30 to 17, but upheld the club’s demotion. The other four Italian clubs also charged in the match-fixing scandal received points penalties, but were not demoted. Why has the judgment come so sever only on this Turin Powerhouse?
The club is hopeful that it would be, treated significantly better in the next level of sports justice.
