Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard said he is soon going to sign a contract with the club, which would extend his current contract to another four years.

The 26-year-old England international has another two years to go on his current contract but the club wanted to rope him in with an extension and Gerrard said he is ready. Gerrard’s keenness is quite understandable because the club is offering him a whopping weekly wage of £120,000!

Gerrard said

You know, I’m ready to sign anytime, as soon as the contract is put in front of me I’ll sign it.

The England midfielder had another impressive season for the club, guiding Liverpool to their second Champions League final in three years.

Naturally, Liverpool’s new owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett are happy with Gerrard’s decision and they are hoping that Gerrard would help Liverpool launch a strong campaign for the Premiership title.

The team moves to Athens in five days time for the Champions League final against AC Milan.
