Football-ing controversy in Portugal.

The Portuguese football is on a verge of a ban from all international fixtures. A Portuguese football club Gil Vicente has been penalized for fielding an ineligible Angolan player Mateus in the country’s Premier League. The World’s Football governing body FIFA has asked the Portugal’s Football federation to resolve the issue in less than two weeks time or the Portugal’s team may be banned from all international tournaments. Owing to this on going controversy the Premier League remains suspended until some resolution is sought for the problem. However, the Portugal’s Football federation is hopeful that a civil courts decision will help the league games to commence again, leaving Gil Vicente to resolve the matter, and the national team will avoid FIFA’s ban.
