Sven-Goran Eriksson has contracted to a 3-year-deal with the Manchester City club. The latest deal will probably earn him a £2million anually with futher addition of other bonus, too. Eriksson stepped down from his most recent position as the English national football coach following team’s exit from the 2006 World Cup. Rumors had also spread around that he was forced out, by the English football authorities. Eriksson was the first foreign manager to be appointed coach of the England national team in 2001. Having notable feats under his belt has guided them to reach the quarter final in three consecutive tournaments ie. WC 2002, Euro 2004, WC 2006. To add more, became the only European country that did not suffer elimination from group play or failure to qualify during 2001-2006. During his regin, England beat Argentina to clinch the 2002 World Cup. Lots of credit goes to his name as England improved their FIFA World ranking from 17th place to 5th place. Being, enormously thrilled and honoured for the new challenge, Eriksson is committed to deliver his best. Owing to the amount of huge experience of managing top clubs especially the English Premier League, to success is one of the key factors that he has ben picked up. Though he has been in controversies that have been much talked of, still indubitably standing as the world’s best.
