Copa America: US looses three matches in a row

The United States has been much criticized for being eliminated from Copa America 2007 and even deprived of a single match win, to it’s credit. Loosing three matches in a row, is the first-ever such defeat jinx since, 2001 for US. The South American Soccer Federation strongly feels that the induction of new faces in the team, leaving the superstars has led to the collapse. Contrary to this, even Brazil too, was left without the prominent players but have surely made it to the knockout stages. The fruitless endeavor shown by the US players in the previous two encounters has been totally disgusting. Loosing 4-1 to Argentina and 3-1 to Paraguay completely toppled their position of being starred as favorites. The players did fancy their chances for a quarterfinal berth, needing Ecuador to win over Brazil. The final hopes were entirely shattered as Brazil came on top, knocking them out before they could even play their final group-stage game, against Colombia. The mission to Copa America 2007, finally ended when they lost 1-0 to Colombia on Thursday, leaving them without a much awaited, win. The recent show by United States should not be miscalculated as they need to juggle around with some innovative ideas and strategies and not repeat the same, in some major competitions.
