Cognising newspaper speculation about striker Andriy Shevchenko’s return to former club AC Milan Chelsea have threatened to take legal action.

Jose Mourinho allegedly gave an interview about the Ukrainian’s future to a number of European papers.
Shevchenko had a difficult first season in the Premiership during which he managed to score just four league goals.
A statement from Chelsea read:
Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho totally refute any of the comments that have appeared in European newspapers regarding Andriy Shevchenko.
Despite his struggle to adapt to English football following his £30m transfer from AC Milan last summer Chelsea have ceaselessly held that Shevchenko will remain at the club.
Shevchenko has been persistently linked with a return to the San Siro and very recently AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi said that he was confident of bringing the Ukraine striker back to the club.
