Bayern Munich and Zenit enter UEFA Cup Semis

Bayern Munich should thank their lucky stars for making it to the UEFA Cup Semi Final which at one stage didn’t look that great a possibility considering that they were tottering until two late blows helped them draw the match 3-3 with Getafe. The home crowd had almost started celebrating an upset victory before a meticulous Franck Ribery netted the ball home in the 88th minute. Bayern still trailed in the added time by two goals but Luca Toni dealt a double blow to level the scores at the end, eventually setting up a semi final clash with Zenit St. Petersburg. Zenit though didn’t have to face that much difficulty in making it to the semis owing to the romping 4-1 win in an away game.
