Daniel Alves maybe turning up for Seville but it’s actually Chelsea where his heart lies. With time running out and Seville dragging its heel over his Chelsea offer, Alves is simply exasperated.
Talking to reporters, Alves gave clear indications that he has taken one foot off Seville and is eager to join Chelsea.
He said
My agent has been in England for some time handling the offer made by Chelsea and that is really what interests me. This is a wonderful chance for my career and I want to take advantage of it. If they (Seville) respect me they will analyse the offer made by Chelsea.
Alves is desperate to ink the deal before Seville’s Champions League qualification match next Wednesday because if he plays in that tie, he would not be able to play for another club this entire season.
Apparently, Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho is keen to get the Brazilian right-back but Alves’ deal is being delayed because of a similar delay in Chelsea winger Arjen Robben’s move to Real Madrid. Chelsea wants to buy Alves from the money they would get from Robben’s sale and the latter deal has developing some complications.
Whatever be the reason, for Alves, time is running out fast and he can only keep his fingers crossed and watch it rather helplessly.
